International Conference of International Movement of Tamil Culture - 29th & 30th August 2026

The International Movement for Tamil Culture (IMTC) is a global organization works to promote Tamil culture through activities such as appreciating the unique artistic performances of ancient Tamil, conducting literary and cultural seminars and conferences, promoting Tamil education, and establishing bonds among Tamils living all over the world, in accordance with the motto “Every place is ours and everybody is our relative” (யாதும் ஊரே யாவரும் ரேளிர்). An International Conference organized by this organization with the theme “The Unique History of Tamils” will be held in London on Monday, August 29 and 30, 2026.

Over the past 300 years, Tamil diaspora have left their mark in more than sixty countries. Today, non-Tamil Tamil scholars are also providing research on Tamils and Tamil culture. Due to the tireless efforts of those great people, our mother tongue, the classical language, is today a global language that shines all over the world. Europe, Asia, Africa, and Scandinavia have established themselves centres of research on the Tamils and their antiquity. This conference has taken the initiative to strengthen further and continue this effort. This conference will feature lectures, workshops,
poetry recitals, book launches, exhibitions on Tamil history, and much more. A field trip will also be held during the conference.

Other information
Research papers should not exceed 8 pages in A4, 1 ½ space format.

Research papers should follow APA format.
The abstract should be submitted along with the registration form.
Performing arts and visual arts professionals are also welcome to participate in the conference. 
The deadline for submitting information about their participation has been extended to the end of May 2026.
Presenters of research papers are requested to submit their abstracts on or before 30 April 2026. 
The full paper should arrive by 31 May 2026.
Registration deadline is 31 May 2026 along with the paper.
Registration Fees: All journal editors and participants are required to pay a registration fee of USD $700.
The fee includes accommodation, meals and local transportation.
